Day 18 of 30 — Public Thoughts
“Over the past year, it feels like everyone and their grandma has started a brand where they’re ’documenting the process’.
And don’t get me wrong, it’s a great form of content and way to share your story/journey with people… but for f*ck sake, that is not how you build a creator led brand.
You don’t buy Jordan’s because Michael Jordan, 23, the GOAT, was in the factory making them himself, you buy them, because he wears & performs in them.
You don’t buy chamberlain coffee because she goes to Columbia and handpicks the beans herself before packaging them up, you buy it because she herself drinks it every morning.
So instead of starting something that is all about you ‘making it’… you need to actually get people to like, follow or watch you for something already, and then make better versions of the stuff you’re already using or talking about.

Read this today and immediately had an a-sh*t moment.
(The ugly cousin of the a-ha moment.)
Realizing that if I truly want this to just be for me…
My intro is fine.
But to invite people INTO my world…
It’s cliché and worse…
Too focused on ME.
Two things here: First let’s shift this…
Here to document the process, the mistakes, and the learnings of building worlds that create happy customers.
To this…
Here to show you the process, the mistakes, and the learnings of building worlds that create happy customers.
Ahh, little less self-indulgent :)
Second…
The journey of making this site is the first time content creation has felt… right.
Before, it was a means to an end.
Which I guess is fine… but unless you have something else to help you stand apart, it’s not going to be authenticity.
But this time I truly created this for myself and now just want to invite people in and hopefully give them value.
Subtly different.
But there’s an underlying sense of joy that can’t be faked.
