Day 26 of 30 — Public Thoughts

There is no more powerful force than momentum.

When enough wins have accumulated…

And all of a sudden…

Everything becomes effortless,

Everything flows,

And everything. Just. Works.

It’s a beautiful feeling.

I’ve had periods like this in my own life, like I’m sure you have, but I’m more curious on when this happens to a brand…

For instance, Stanley…

You know those obnoxiously sized cups that seemingly every women in North America owns?

But it wasn’t something that happened over time…

It happened overnight!

The Stanley Summer was as if everyone was in on a cue, where one day they’d just collectively start using them.

How?!

To be clear, not discrediting them… “overnight” successes are never overnight…

But it’s like each win stacks on the scale of momentum and one day the scales… just… shift.

My questions…

I haven’t done this with a brand…

To the scale of Stanley at least…

Yet ;)

But in my own life…

It’s fairly simple…

  1. Know where you’re trying to go
  2. Do things every day that move you closer — but not just any thing, for the sake of doing things, but things that move the needle… powerlist
  3. Do it over and over and… over again

One day you wake up and realize that you’ve moved hundreds of miles, working the job you dreamed of, making more than you have before, and still moving towards bigger and bigger goals… or something like that.
